Story (No name..yet)!
I don't usually let people read stories I write, but I thought what the hey, some feedback would be helpful! So this is a little part of a story i've been working on. If anyone wants, as I wrote more I could post more :].
Anywoooos, this here is the introduction and first chapter. Hope you liek..and i don't know what to call it yet!!! lol.
Raine charged down the alleyway, a dark figure close behind her. Blood oozed through the tear in her shirt and she was beginning to feel faint. But she had to keep going. She had to get away from the man pursuing her. The man who had cut her. She continued down the dark alley. Dead end.
“S***,” she hissed, “S***!”
“Nowhere to run now dear,” the raspy, sinister voice said menacingly.
“Stay away from me! My people...we’ll stop you, scum!”
The figure outstretched its arm to reveal a revolting, scrawny, grey hand with long pointed nails. It wrapped its bony fingers around Raine’s honey coloured neck.
“Tell me where the boy is and I won’t have to kill you.”
“Never,” Raine spat in the direction the figures face should be, but it was not visible due to the shadows his hood cast across it. Raine wasn’t sure if these hideous creatures even had a real face. The creature tightened its grip and Raine began flailing her arms and legs around but she was too weak to shake the monster off. A strange sensation began to fill her body as if her blood had frozen still in her veins, her eyes became clouded and her mind was filled with a feeling of hatred as she could see all the evil deeds this thing, this monster had ever committed.
“You...will....be...stopped,” Raine managed to say as she gently closed her eyes for the last time. The creature dropped her with a thud on the floor, got down on its hands and knees and looked for the wound where the girls crimson blood was steadily flowing out of her still body. He licked his lips and began to drink, treasuring the metallic taste of blood filling his mouth.
Chapter 1. The Many Misfortunes of Tony Diego.
The sound of the wind and rain battering against the window was drowned out by the click clicking of the keys on Tony’s laptop and the dull, expressionless tone of the news reporter on the television; News just in, yet another victim of the serial killer who appears to suck the blood of his victims, has been found in an alley near Old Jay’s bar. Yet again a bizarre pentagram symbol drawn in blood...”
“Oh what a wonderful world,” Tony sighed and changed the channel. Old cheesy sitcom. Flick. Some documentary on the war on terror? Flick. Some emo kid singing about how awful his life is? No thanks. Flick. The News. Tony sighed and switched off the TV and turned back to the monitor of his laptop. Closing the college assignment he had been trying to work on, Tony signed into an instant messenger programme to find other sad individuals who had nothing better to do on a Friday night than surf the internet.
MurphyNo1: Hey fatsome
AlmightyTony: Hi tubby.
MurphyNo1: You told Sal she aint in the band anymore?
AlmightyTony: Not yet...she’ll flip you know.
MurphyNo1: I don’t care. She’s the reason we’re going nowhere.
AlmightyTony: Heh yeah...
MurphyNo1: Any luck finding a room mate yet?
AlmightyTony: No...You wouldn’t believe the weirdoes I’ve had trying to move in here! Junkies, alcoholics, all I want is someone reliable!
As if God was answering his prayers, there was a gentle knock on the door which caused Tony to jump. Who would be at the door at 11.30 at night? Thinking about all the weird murders and disappearances recently, Tony couldn’t help but think maybe the person behind it all was at the other side of the door about to make Tony his next victim. He slowly made his way to the door, picking up a baseball bat on his way. Just to be safe, he told himself.
“Who is it?” he called.
“I’m here about you needing a room mate?” a pretty, friendly voice replied, “I realise it’s late and I would have called but I was so tied up with work...I’m sorry if I woke you.”
Tony sighed with relief and put the bat down. Wait…did this person just say work? Someone who actually had a source of income other than selling drugs to stupid school kids? This girl scored points before the door was even open to welcome her in.
Tony opened the door to see a petite, young Asian girl of a small build, with amazing brown eyes and dark brown hair tied loosely into a ponytail, strands of hair framing her gentle face. She was beautiful. More points to her.
“No you’re not disturbing anything. Uh, come in. I’m Tony Diego.”
“My name is Megami, pleased to meet you!”
“Why don’t you tell me a little about yourself?”
“I’m nineteen years old. Work as a waitress at Old Jay’s. I’m staying with my grandparents and I figured it was time I moved out. I like cooking, I’m pretty tidy and I will keep out of your way as much as you want. Just…please…I realise you’ve probably had hundreds of great people coming since you put up that ad, but I just…”
Tony snorted with laughter, there were no great people trying to move in here, until now.
“When can you move in?”
“What? Are you for real?”
“Yes. You’re the only person who’s come that I could stand living with,” Tony laughed. Megami’s eyes lit up and she threw her arms around his neck.
“Thank you so much Tony! You’re a saint. I get off work at five tomorrow, how about I bring my stuff round then?”
“Okay, see you tomorrow…wait…don’t you even want to see the room you’d get?” he asked, realising that this girl was awful hasty to decide to live here. Maybe she likes you Tony, he thought.
“Don’t be stupid,” he murmured to himself.
“Oh right, of course.”
Tony led her to what was now the spare room. The room Sal, up until recently, had called her own. Apparently she had moved out because her mother was sick. But Sal hated her mother and Tony had suspicions that Sal was seeing someone else. She’d probably grown bored of Tony but just didn’t have the guts to tell him. Once he told her she couldn’t sing in Tony and Murphy’s band, she would probably leave Tony for sure.
I would have left her before now anyway, maybe I’d be better off without her, Tony thought, but it’s not like I’ll ever find anyone else.
“It’s a good sized room,” Megami nodded, “Little unsure of all the pink though.”
Tony laughed, “Yeah, you can do what you want with it.”
“Well, I’d better get going. Thank you…Tony.”
Megumi let herself out and Tony found himself staring at the door after she closed it, wishing she hadn’t left. He shook his head and returned to his laptop.
AlmightyTony: Dude, you are never going to believe what has just happened to me! It’s like God is making up for all the crap he has put me through and has sent me an angel!
The next morning, Tony awoke to find yet another pile of bills that needed to be paid waiting for him in his letterbox along with a letter from his landlord:
‘Tony I’m a good man and I realise you’re having some money troubles, but if you don’t pay your rent which is 3 weeks overdue – by the end of the week – I’m afraid I’ll have to evict you.’
Tony smiled to himself as he threw the letter in the bin, soon his financial problems would be solved with a new roommate who could help him with electricity bills and take a bit off the cost of food shopping, then all he had to deal with was the course work he was struggling with, his probably cheating girlfriend and his failing band. Tony picked up his guitar and began playing a tune he was in the middle of composing but with no real reason to try and no inspiration apart from how things in his life never seemed to get better, he gave up and then searched his cupboards in vain for something vaguely healthy to eat. He would have to stop living on microwave dinners and beer once Megami moved in, he didn’t want to get chubby and repulse her…”You mean repulse Sal!” Tony corrected himself, but he wasn’t convinced. Just in time to distract Tony’s thoughts, the phone rang and Murphy’s loud voice boomed out from the other end of the receiver.
“Tony! Band is coming over to your house to practice tonight.”
“Are they?”
“Yeah well…my parents are having some kind of dinner party and said we couldn’t practice here tonight, so we all decided your place,” Tony could tell Murphy was wearing that same wide grin as always.
“Right…but my roommate is moving in tonight…”
“Well she can watch! Oh and…going to tell Sal tonight? Please man…”
“Ok…see you later.”
Tony sighed and sat down at his computer. Time to tackle that college assignment.
Megami stood outside Jay’s bar, helping the deliverymen carry the crates of beer into the back.
”Sure you can handle that, miss?” the older, fatter of the two asked.
”Yes thank you!” Megami hissed, clearly insulted at the sexist assumptions of this five chinned sleaze. As the man headed for the door, she wished it would shut in his face. It did and he fell backwards, the crate of beer landing on his toe. Megami smiled to herself.
”Ouch! Who the hell just…ah!” the man stood up, the pain in his foot and probably embarrassment, causing tears to form in his eyes. He bent down to pick up the crate again.
”Sure you can handle that?” Megami said sarcastically. The man scowled at her and murmured something under his breath. Megami giggled and stuck her tongue out at him before going back inside.
Dirk, acting as a regular at the pub came in, his stubble had grown into more of a beard since Megami had seen him last. His eyes looked tired and he was frowning. He looked troubled. Megami poured a beer and slid it across the bar to him.
”On the house.”
”Oh, I didn’t see ya come in…thanks Megami, I need this.”
”What’s up? Another soulless wacko?”
“Yeah but…they got Raine.”
“Raine…no way…” Megami closed her eyes and thought about Raine and how she had always been so tough and seemed the least likely of them to die in their fight.
“They’re on to us. How much would she have told them before she died? They probably tortured her,” Dirk sounded worried.
Megami shook her head, “This is Raine you’re talking about. The Raine who would barely tell us what she wanted for dinner! She’s a tough soul, we can rely on her!”
”You’re probably right… I hope you’re right, if they find out where we are, who we are…”
Just then the bell above the door jingled and Megami looked up to see Tony come in.
”Tony!” she smiled and waved.
”Hey, I just came to see if you needed any help with your stuff later?”
”Yeah probably, thanks that’s really kind.”
Tony sat down at the bar next to Dirk as Megami poured him a beer.
“So, Tony, your gonna be Meg’s new roommate right?”
“Right.”
”Nice to meet ya! I’m Dirk, I’ve known Megami since she was this small!”
Tony smiled and was about to ask Dirk more about Megami, when the door swung open and a startled man came in, clutching a wound in his side and panting.
”Megami! Dirk! Another…in the…alley!”
”Kevin!” Megami gasped as she ran towards him, “Sit down. What happened? Who did this to you?”
Kevin looked towards Tony who was watching him, with wide green eyes; his long brown hair scruffily gelled.
Kevin lowered his voice and whispered to Dirk and Megami, “It’s them!”
“Who did that to you? The murderer? That serial killer?” Tony had gotten up and was looking from Megami, to Dirk, to Kevin, perplexed.
”Nope just a thug. I was mugged,” Kevin said quickly, before anyone else could say anything.
”Yeah come on Tony, my shifts over. Let’s get my things from the back and head home. Hehe that sounds funny. OUR home,” Said Megami, untying her apron and heading to the back of the bar, trying to lure Tony away from the other two.
Tony forced a smile but stood watching Dirk and Kevin for a moment longer, before following Megami.

Re: Story (No name..yet)!
This all I've done so far...I've actually stuck at this one for a good few weeks. Usually i start one then give up after day 2 haha.
Tony forced the key into his apartment door and forced the red, peeling wooden entrance to his home open. Megami hadn’t noticed how messy this place was before. There were magazines and textbooks piled all over the place, video games and DVDs, empty beer cans and pot noodles all over the floor. The only actual furniture in the room was an expensive TV set (funny, thought Megami, he has enough for a TV but no healthy groceries), a brown leather sofa that was beginning to wear, an old bookshelf that obviously was a hand-me-down, a desk that housed a laptop, phone and some photo frames. However, a large black bass-guitar standing on a stand caught Megami’s eye.
“You play bass?”
”Oh yeah…I’m in a band. Actually…do you mind if they come over for practise tonight…”
”Do I mind? Tony, of course I don’t!” she laughed, “I play guitar you know.”
”Really? Do you have one?” but as he asked he noticed a guitar case hanging on her back and laughed, “As you can see, I’m really observant,”
The two of them laughed and then the door swung open.
A tall young man the same age as Tony and Megami, came in clutching a bass guitar, he had wild blonde hair and wore a bright red t-shirt. Another boy with a shaved head who was carrying a folder followed him. The last to come through the door was a young girl with bleached blonde hair in a bob wearing a leather skirt, a red top and a denim jacket. She wasn’t very attractive, though she seemed to think she was. She ran over to Tony and kissed him awkwardly on the cheek.
”Hey Tony!” they all said.
”Hey guys!”
”Ah, you must be Tony’s new roommate,” said the tall one, “Name’s Murphy.”
”Pleased to meet you, I’m Megami.”
”I’m Aleksy,” said the other boy with a polish accent.
“Sal. Tony’s girlfriend,” she wrinkled her nose and looked Megami up and down, disgusted.
”I’m just going to unpack,” Megami said heading towards her room.
”Come listen to us once you’re done?” Murphy said, grinning.
”Sure.”
Hours passed with Tony on his bass, Murphy on his guitar, Aleksy on a small drum set and Sal screeching into a microphone as Megami unpacked. The music’s good, but Sal’s singing was the kind that could make your ears bleed, Megami thought. She took her last item of clothing out of her suitcase and then stepped back to look around at the room. The chest of drawers now filled with her clothes, the bedside table was now home to a photo and an alarm clock and the shelf above the bed was crammed with books. She liked it here, but how long would it be until she was forced to leave?
Sighing, she went into the main room that now seemed silent to find Sal and Tony arguing while Aleksy and Murphy stood in the kitchen area awkwardly. They all turned to look at Megami as she entered the room.
“Shall I…make us all something to eat?” she said, trying to break the tension that had filled the room like a depressive fog.
”Oh yeah! I’m starving! Not sure you’ll find any food in Tony’s kitchen though,” said Murphy cheekily as Megami began raking through cupboards.
There was an awkward silence that was broken by Megami dropping a pot on the floor which seemed to hit a switch that caused Sal to start shouting at Tony again.
”You can’t chuck me out of the band!”
”Sal, it isn’t just me, Aleksy and Murphy…”
”But you still want me out! Oh you’re awful Tony. If I’m out the band, you’re out of my life. So what is it? Me? Or the band?”
Tony looked at floor, then the ceiling as if they were going to give him an answer.
”Answer me, Tony.”
”I…”
”IT SHOULDN’T BE THIS HARD TO CHOOSE. IT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS. DON’T YOU CARE ABOUT ME TONY? OH, GOODBYE!” Sal shouted, picking up a bag and storming out the room, slamming the door behind her.
“And good riddance!” said Murphy in a singsong voice, “Psycho!”
Megami, silently, agreed.
”Murphy shut up,” Aleksy hissed.
Megami walked over to Tony, who was now sitting on the couch with his head in his hands.
”You all right?”
Tony replied with something that was in between a grunt and a ‘yes’.
”Tony, that girl, she’s bad news, you are better off without her,” said Aleksy.
”You can do better than someone like…that,” said Megami, patting him on the shoulder before returning to the pot that was bubbling on the cooker.
A horrible silence filled the room again as Aleksy and Murphy drunk their beers and Tony seemed lost in thought. Megami, who quietly began singing the song the band had been singing, once again broke the silence.
“You have a really nice voice,” said Murphy, watching Megami pour the contents of the pot into four bowls.
”What me?” she laughed.
”Yeah. You sing a lot?”
”All the time when I’m cleaning, cooking just kind of a habit. Like biting your nails.”
”You should sing in our band,” said Tony, finally saying something.
”Oh. No way! Here you go,” she said passing out the bowls, desperately trying to change the subject.
”No really, your voice – it’s the kind of thing we’re looking for.”
Megami shook her head, “No way.”
They tried, but there was no convincing her. Another hour passed and the clock struck midnight and Aleksy and Murphy decided to leave. Megami began cleaning dishes as Tony sat in silence staring into space.
“Tony, if you ever want to talk about…things, I’m here for you. I mean I know I haven’t known you that long but…”
”What do you mean? What things?”
”Well…like Sal or anything else that might be on your mind.”
Tony sighed and fell silent again. Megami finished cleaning up and then sat down next to him.
”Tomorrow, we’re going on a proper food shop!” she laughed, forcing a smile out of Tony.
”I’m really glad you’ve moved in. I’ve only known you for what, 24 hours? But already I’m happy I met you. Now, how long before you leave?”
”What? Leave?”
”Everything I care about…leaves me. Even my parents.”
Megami felt awkward, need something to say to cheer him up, ”What about Murphy, he’s your best friend right?”
”Yeah. Hell I’ve known him since I was eight.”
”He’s still there for you.”
”Hm. But you don’t know what it’s like, being an orphan, it’s like no one…”
”Oh no I wouldn’t know would I?” Megami interrupted, “I’m going to bed now. Goodnight Tony.”
Tony wondered if he had said something wrong. Megami marched over to her bedroom door and then stopped.
”I’m not going to leave you, Tony.”
Chapter 2
Bolting the door locked and putting the many keys in his pocket, Dirk sighed and shook his head. It was getting worse. Those things…were getting stronger and if they didn’t think of a solution soon, the world could…Dirk shook his head, trying to wipe the talks of the Apocalypse from his head. He set off into the city that was lit up by the ugly glare of streetlamps. The buzzing of car engines and music from clubs making him feel a little better. People were still going about their daily business, they didn’t know any better, they had no idea of the danger they were all in – they were still happy and that made Dirk feel like he was doing his job. He walked passed Old Jay’s and waved to Kevin through the window, about to head inside until a terrible screeching noise filled his head. He spun around and fumbled for the gun in his pocket and ran into the jewellers where the noise had come from, praying it was a robbery and not another one of them.
No such luck.
A young girl, no more than eight years of age, lay in a pool of her own blood, a dark, wispy figure stood over her, making a slurping sound with its tongue. Dirk automatically raised his gun and began firing, the white bullets exploding as they hit the figure, causing it to make a bizarre grunting noise.
”A child? A child! How could you, you’re sick!”
The noise of the gun echoing in his ears was drowning out the hissing sound coming from the creature.
”The key…give us the key…”
”Hah! Never!” Dirk continued firing, however due to the fact that the creature had just fed, he wasn’t convinced it was doing much use. However, whether from pain or sheer boredom, the monster hissed once more and then vanished, leaving nothing but a pile of dust on the floor from which a strange blue smoke was rising. Dirk ran over to the lifeless child, her body was becoming a bizarre shade of grey, her eyes an empty shade of black and she wore a look of complete terror on her face. The creature’s signature symbol was scratched into the girls arm.
Looking at the girl properly, he began to realise who it was.
”Linda! Linda!” he scooped his own daughter into his arms and began to sob. The door opened behind him and four armed policemen ran towards Dirk and his child.
”You’re under arrest!”

Re: Story (No name..yet)!
Lalala...sorry for bazillion posts, said it was too long and what not.
The weeks after Megami moved in were some of the best of Tony’s life. The stress of not having enough money for rent and bills had lifted, Megami was cooking – meaning Tony was no longer living on what might as well have been called “microwavable heart problems” or “frozen cancer”, he could concentrate more on his coursework and best of all, he was just having fun. It was nice having someone there to talk to, play video games with and play tricks on. Living with Megami was a lot more fun and carefree than living with Sal. When he had done so, Tony was mocked and moaned at for everything he did and found himself sneaking around in his own home just to stay away from the woman he was supposed to love. The only thing wrong right now was the scratches and bruises beginning to appear on Megami whenever she came home from “being out with friends”. She claimed it was the effects of falling on a drunken night out, or an accident at work – but she had never been particularly drunk when she had arrived home and something just didn’t feel right.
An abusive boyfriend maybe? He would find out, somehow.
One night while the band was round for dinner and a practice; Megami had come home with a black eye.
”Megami, who did this to you?” Murphy cried as soon as he saw her, “I’m gonna kill ‘em!”
“Ah…a drunken customer at work. He didn’t mean it, no need to worry about me,” she said, beginning to prepare a desert.
”You’ve been getting a lot of those,” said Tony, growing annoyed that Megami wouldn’t tell him what was really going on.
”Yeah, well, the terrible effects of alcohol…”
The phone began to ring and Megami dived towards it, obviously glad to have a diversion. Aleksy, Murphy and Tony dug into their dinner, exchanging concerned looks.
”Hello, Tony and Megami’s place.”
The happy tone of Megami’s voice faded and her eyes filled up with tears as the conversation continued until she could no longer keep it in.
”Linda…Dirk I…I’ll be right there!”
She hung up the phone and headed for the door.
”I have to go, I’ll be back later.”
“What’s going on?” said Tony, standing up and grabbing her arm.
”Dirk’s daughter was murdered,” she said, barely able to say it.
”What? The same murderer that leaves that weird symbol at the scene of the…” Aleksy said but was cut off by Megami.
”Yes! And they think it was Dirk! They’re blaming Dirk! You humans are so stupid!”
Megami slammed the door shut and everyone stood in silence, confused.
”Did she say…’you humans’?” said Murphy, laughing slightly.
“Yeah…strange,” said Tony, who sat back down at the table.
“Aren’t you going with her?” Aleksy said, frowning.
“What? I hardly know Dirk…”
“To support Megami you numbskull! Dude you really are useless when it comes to being considerate. Or chicks!” said Murphy.
Tony frowned and thumped Murphy on the back before picking up his coat and following Megami down the hall.
Dirk looked around the interviewing room, from the stern looking, balding police officer to the camera watching him like a hawk.
“Mr Stein, where were you around 8 o’clock last night?” said the police officer his voice deep and hoarse. Dirk guessed the man wasn’t far from retiring.
“I told you already! Outside Old Jay’s bar, I was meeting my friend Kevin for a drink!”
“Was that before or after you killed your daughter?”
“I didn’t!”
“Mr Stein, I would like you to watch this…” said the officer, placing a video into a VCR and switching on the small television set.
“This is footage from the jewellers when your daughter was killed. What was she doing there?”
“How many times must I say it? My neighbour Karen is the owner of that shop and she was looking after Linda at the shop for me!”
“And then you killed Karen and Linda?”
“No! How dare you accuse me of such things! I’m not good at many things in life, but I was a good father!”
“And good at keeping your identity secret whilst you murdered countless people,” the officer pressed the play button on the VCR.
The black and white footage showed Linda looking through a display cabinet at the large diamond rings she constantly pestered her father for. He’d never mustered up enough money to buy her one. Then, the screen went black and all that could be heard was a scream, a strange hissing sound and then gun shots. It wasn’t until the moment that the monster would have disappeared, that the footage became clear again and all that could be seen was Dirk lowering his gun and running to his daughter.
“I was shooting the guy that was attacking her!” Dirk said, close to tears. “There wasn’t a gun shot on her body so…”
“I know, so I’ve been told to release you, for now because apparently there’s no real evidence. But I will find the evidence and I will have you locked away forever!” the man shouted, his voice full of bitterness and spite.
It was then that Dirk realised exactly who this man was, a man who would go to any extreme to have Dirk locked away, never to see the light of day again…
Megami sat in the reception area, looking at her knees, a feeling of fear was gripping her and she could not help but fear the worst. What if they really were going to charge Dirk with the murders? He did not deserve that, he was a good man. “It’ll be okay Meg…” said Tony, nervously sliding his hand along the sofa and taking her hand into his. She clung onto his, shaking slightly, her palm hot and sweaty.
“How do you know Dirk?” asked Tony.
Megami’s voice was tired and hoarse from crying, “When I first came to the city he looked after me, I’ve lived with him for years – he’s the closest thing to a father I have…”
“I thought you lived with your grandmother up until you moved in with me?” Tony was confused and frustrated, why was Megami always so secretive?
“Oh…I…”
Just then Dirk came into the reception, looking worn out and shaken up. “Dirk! Their letting you go?” she said, gleefully running to him and hugging him.
He nodded in shock, “Meg…the guy on my case…its Ryan.”
“Oh my God…”
“He’ll do anything to lock me away, even if it means using fake evidence!”
“Who’s Ryan?” snapped Tony, his annoyance growing.
“Nobody. Now let’s go home. Dirk you want to stay with us?” asked Megami, a look of concern and forlorn on her brow.
“No I want to be alone. I’ll call you about the you-know-what. Keep on your toes, their getting closer to home!”
Megami and Tony headed home, neither of them saying a word, the tension could have been cut with a knife. It wasn’t until they were in the privacy of their home that someone spoke.
“Who’s Ryan?” enquired Tony, a hint of anger in his voice.
“An old acquaintance of mine, why?”
“Why does he want Dirk locked away?”
“Why were you eavesdropping? I don’t think this is any of your business!”
“Well when my room mate is involved with murderers and comes home beaten and bruised, I think I deserve some kind of explanation!”
“DIRK IS NO MURDERER! He is a greater man than you will ever be! I’m only trying to protect you Tony. You’ll be grateful, some day!”
“Protect me from what?” he bellowed.
“From us…” the two of them looked up to see a cloaked figure standing by the window, blood and what seemed like blue smoke were all that could be seen within the hood.
Tony screamed, “what the hell is that?!”
As Megami, a look of fear and confusion on her face edged slowly towards the kitchen counter where a large meat cleaver sat.
The creature screeched as it realised what Megami was doing and lunged forward, knocking the girl to the ground and reaching for Tony.
“Run Tony, Run!” Megami cried before following to the ground and being knocked unconscious.
