I was looking through the Television section,There are quite a few Anime posts.

What do you guys think of a new section for Anime only?

I think its a good idea, I'll definetly make a lot of posts for anime, mainly because i'm a HUEG fan
I think its also good just because anime is sometimes simply dvd's not shown on television as a TV show ( well not in the UK anyway
-_- ) And could also give oppurtunity for other anime conversations Ie: who is your favorite anime character, what is your favorite anime/manga and why.

I so vote yes for this! Also, just to add, I LOVE Rena's idea for "who's your fave anime/manga character and why" type threads!

Would Sonic X be considered Anime?

I'll be the vote of adversity and go with "No".

I personally thought that "TV" covered things shown on TV in other countries too, which is why I decided to create a general TV thread for all things TV. I've had forums before where I've had a seperate anime section, but thought that it made more sense to have all TV things in one place.

I'm not exactly sure how splitting a section into two that cover the same thing as the first will encourage more posting. Could someone enlighten me on that one, please? What would make someone more inclined to post in an anime section than in a section dedicated to all TV shows, including anime?

One reason being not all Anime's are TV Shows.For example in England we have less then 5 Anime's on TV all of them being less popular rubbish Anime.

TV i think would be better for things like Star Trek,Stargate,Heroes,Lost etc where an Anime section can be all about Anime and be an Active topic and possibly attract more members.

But animes were created for TV, and are shown on TV in some places.

Because what you're saying would justify splitting TV into Cable/Satellite and Terrestrial shows. For example, only people with Sky1 can watch Battlestar Galactica; others would need to buy it on DVD.

You may have a point with the whole attracting members thing, though.

And just in case of misperception, I'm not saying "No" to a separate thread for anime (because the members have as much of a say in such matters unless in extinuating circumstances). I'm just debating the points, in order to view this suggestion from all aspects.

I understand and apreciate the points you made,I got the idea from the expo forums and thought it would be a good idea for Lunar Court.

You should know as well as me British Television does not air Anime and most DvD's are the 'popular' Animes.

For example ; Fushigi Yuugi is not a DVD (Unless you buy it online) or a Television show.

There are many Animes that are like this and i think it's a little strange posting about things like this in the Television section.

Other members seem to like this idea too.

Well it doesn't look like this idea will be getting much other opposition.

So do you wanna do it, or should I? Also, I think we should move mangas into that section too, making it an Anime & Manga section.
