All I know is that it is a bunch of people dressed up as other people or characters running around doing something I don't know of. lol
So will someone fill me in on EXACTLY what you people do in conventions?

' What you people do ' That's harsh coming from a 15 year old.

You get chances to meet big time celebs (Obviously depending what kind of Con you go too)
Cosplaying is a big part which adds the the fun of it.
As for ' Running around doing something ' That's the annoying little minors glomping people and making alot of enemies whilst thinking they are ' Kawaii '
There's also many stalls you can buy things from, things you wont find anywhere except the net.The meet people...Depending who you meet it can change your life.
Con's are just...Brilliant,You have to go to one to understand.

I thought about, even found a tutorial for creating a fursuit, and tips and tricks on how to be a fursuiter. O_o But I think it's a bit too much for me to do at this point in time. Soooo... maybe I'll make some ears and tail. And dress up my dollies!! Very Happy

Rutile wrote:I'm thinking it could get hot dressed up in all that hairy stuff.... O_O

Hell yeah it gets hot, that's why it's best to install a fan inside!

There are a ton of panels at conventions, panels for just about anything, hosted by just about anyone. Panels on traveling to Japan, wearing Kimono's, katana's, voice acting, art, cosplay, everything!

I personally love going to the art panels, and the rooms that show Japanese PV's! Woot! I also LOVE going to the concerts, and the raves!

There are video rooms that play anime and live action all day and night (all the adult shows are at night)

And let's not forget the dealers room, where I can spend $200 in like... 5 minutes. x_x I was like... "What, I'm broke? What do you mean I'm broke?"

Conventions are the best thing ever!! And if your favorite stars are there you get to stalk them, and all kinds of great stuff! You just have to go to conventions... you just have to. lol

I generally go to cons to meet friends from all over the country, and some from abroad, and to meet famous people. Smile

Awww don't be scared! Our raves aren't that packed, so you can usually always find a little free space. And fi you can't, try doing some tricks with those glowsticks on strings... people might back up then! XD

Really, the only time you find yourself pressed into a crowd is if you're trying to watch the breakdances do their "America's Best Dance Crew" thing lol I did just that last year (while holding Yuki, no less. Bad idea! XD) it was really cool, the parts I got to see at least.

break dancing was huge in the 70s and now its huge in the 2000s

lol now watch lean jackets and such wil be big like they were in the 80s and 90s lol

kinda embarrassing that no one can make up a new style other than reusing the old ones is it not ????

There is a saying, isn't there, that "Everything old is new again."

There's nothing embarrassing about it at all, having love and respect for a style that you wih to dance that way yourself... there's nothing wrong with that.

And just because someone is "reusing the old ones" as you call it, doesn't mean they can't add their own individuality to it.

As an artist I highly disagree with that you're saying here. Every artist, no matter what they do, draw, dance, play music, every artist puts a bit of themselves in what they do, no matter what it is, and no matter how many people have done it before.

And there is -nothing- embarrassing about it. If you feel so embarrassed then maybe you should go make a new dance yourself.

Buit anyway, back to the subject... conventions! At AWA this year I'll be dressing my 90cm boy up as a member of The Captains (who should be performing again this year) I hope they'll love the costume. Smile
