As some of you may have heard, I've taken over this competition (many thanks to Cel for allowing me to) seeing as I probably won't be entering anyway, and I'd like for everyone that plans to join in o...
Masako comes from Korea. She is 9 years old. She is named after the Japanese/Korean married princess Masako Nashimoto. She was bought for me by my Uncle who lived in Korea for most of his life as a teacher of English.
I also have a Korean doll, Chas! Three of them, to be precise. I've had them since I was adopted as a baby. I think my parents bought them for me (I dunno.... I guess I always took their presences for granted!).
But... Your doll looks Japanese? O__o;; Then again, I don't know that much about Korean traditional dress, so....
Wow! I'm so glad you took pictures of her, thanks so much for sharing her with us! <3 She must add a really lovely presense to the room. I really envy you (and you too, Ru!) for owning such wonderful dolls.
To my knowledge, hanboks/choson-ot are the traditional Korean dress. And while that's no a hanbok, everything about your Masako is absolutely beautiful! <3
Thanks *smiles and places Masako back on her pedistool* I always wondered why Masako was dressed in a kimono dress...yet with a korean hairstyle and make-up *folds arms and thinks* Yet again Masako Nashimoto was a japanese princess who married a Korean prince...so... there is logic and fate for the name i chose *grins*
