Are we gonna read or what?!

Post by Rutile on Fri Apr 11, 2008 1:53 am

Yaaarrgh!! To arms, my brothers! To arms!!! *waves anonymous book above her head*

Okay, so this book club thing.... I think that we should give it another chance at life. It's a good idea and it barely even got off the ground before crashing and bursting into a violent blaze of fiery flames. So here's a vote of the choices we have so far. If anyone wants to go for it, vote for the book you want to read (or that you want others to read). The book with the most votes gets read, and then discussed in whatever manner the readers so desire. Not hard, right?

There's TWO WEEKS before the poll closes and the book is chosen. No pussy-footing around! Now, go vote, my brothers! Vote!!!

As the Jules Verne book is the only one I have access to at the moment and is already in the bag of books I take to work to read so I don't have to almost tear the flesh off my hands just to stay awake, I'm gonna have to vote for that one. I'll probably have finished it by next week though.

I say 1984 because that's a book that has interested me for the longest time.

    *cough*BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU*cough*

Also, my prediction was correct. Not only did I finish reading Around The World In 80 Days, I got through two other books as well. And I wanna slap the author of one of'em.

    War is Peace
    Freedom is Slavery
    Ignorance is Strength

I read this book about two years ago, but I'd probably like it better now.

I said 1984 because I have always wanted to read it and it is apparently very good!

Doesn't the place where that book's author used to live have one of the highest concentration of cameras around it in the country?

I never noticed this thread before..

I'm gonna go for Around the World in 80 days, by Jules Verne. I read it a month or two back, but it'd be nice to talk about it.

Original book > Jackie Chan movie version. Sure, I enjoyed the fight scenes, but it just doesn't work right.
