The Epic Journey

Post by Rutile on Wed Feb 18, 2009 3:12 am

...Or not.

But anyways, what got you into anime\manga?

For me, it was my brother. I was like twelve, and he started bringing home Ranma 1\2 from the library. I wanted to read it too, but he was like, "You're not old enough to read this." Well, me being your typical younger sibling type, I was determined to prove him wrong. So I picked up a book and started reading.

He just kinda shrugged and kept on reading, himself.

I liked it well enough, until I got to the part where Ranma starts transforming. Needless to say, that freaked out my young and impressionable mind somewhat. But I didn't want to admit that my brother was right, and so I kept on. I got used to it eventually, and fortunately the series didn't run on it, so I grew to actually like the series a lot. Smile

My brother also got me into anime. This time he actually wanted me to watch. He'd taped an episode of Inuyasha, and put the tape into the little tv in his room and we watched it there. It was a later episode (not the first, I mean), and I was thoroughly confused.... Mostly about Inuyasha's ears, Myoga's face, and Shippo's gender. But I kept watching it, and then I got everything that confused me before, and then I became mildly obsessed with it; catching every new episode, writing fan-fics, looking up fan-sites, etc. The mania has died down, but Inuyasha will always have a special place in my heart as my first anime. ^___^

Eventually i heard about Neon Genesis Evangelion and watched a few episodes and fell in love Smile I've been a big Anime since...This was quite a few years back now lol
