Macross Plus is fantastic. You should watch that
I'll get onto that soon.
I have seen the original 1982 series, Super Dimension Fortress Macross. I have the Movie SDF Macross: Do you Remember Love? and the OVA SDF Macross: Flashback 2012 ready to watch. I'll see them tonight.
After those two, I have to see SDF Macross II: Lovers, Again. Then I can watch Macross Plus..
I like to watch franchises in chronological order of release, if I can help it.
But I absolutely love the original series. It's possibly the best anime series I have ever seen. I saw it about 1 year ago, but I just finished rewatching it. It's about the closest thing to an anime version of BSG (although I loved it before I saw BSG).
If anyone hasn't seen Super Dimension Fortress Macross, I highly recommend seeing it! Despite the 1982 production date, the animation and graphical quality of the show are still impressive. It didn't take away from my enjoyment, but actually heightened it. I felt like I was watching a part of history! It's not your average sci fi show either, full of just action and technology. It falls under the genres: Space Opera, Drama, Romance, Action.
And wow at the romance.. I am really glad with how it turned out in the end! Won't be spoiling it, though. Let's just say that what I wanted to happen happened.
