FLCL (FoolyCooly)

Post by Rena on Fri Jan 30, 2009 12:56 am

If you like bass guitars, intergalactic investigators, pyromaniac homeless girls and random mecha-battles from robots that come out of a kids head, then this anime is for you.

FLCL is the most random anime I have ever seen, but still is rather sensitive. Revolving around the main character Naota or Takun as he as reffered to, it delves deep into the realms of lost love and missing a family member.

It is a brilliant anime, visually pleasing and has a good plot. Its the donnie darko of anime, something you have to watch a few times to realise its true meaning.

I'd reccomend it as a watch, mainly because I like the robot.
It also features the beauty of a bass, the rickenbacker 4001, which since finding it online have fallen in love with (much to the distaste of Cel who still prefers strats Razz)

I'm the sort of person who likes pretty things and that is ONE PRETTY BASS!!

In 5 words, FLCL is: Weird, wonderful, Lively, brilliant and MECHA!! (but not in a gundam sense. oh no)
Its mecha in the sense of it has a story line but the battles involved use robots and bass guitars.

I'd watch it to fully understand... its kinda hard to sum it up in words.

Its rather hard to find online for full videos but if you want a link, PM me and i'll send you one. (I have it fave'd somewhere)

much love to you all, and happy watching.
xx Rena

I watched that several years ago. It was indeed WAY random and I totally didn't get a lot of it. But I did get inspiration for one of my superheros (PYTHAGOREAN MAN: defender of justice, liberator of math students! He has a box TV\way old computer for a head. Conceived in math tutoring and will never actually see the light of day) from it. Very Happy I also liked the ending theme, although I don't remember how it goes.... I just liked the music and the scooter going around. Smile

Also, TWITCHY-EYEBROWS MAN!!!
